Stimulating Civic Engagement of Youth in Kenya through Media and Information Literacy (MIL)
The Media and Information Literacy Programe was conducted by Acepis with support from UNESCO regional office for Eastern Africa to enrich civic engagement of youth in Kenya by enhancing their understanding of the opportunities in Media and Information Literacy (MIL). It is premised on the concept of MIL, which enables people to show and make informed judgments as users of information and media, and become skillful creators and producers of messages. Building the youth’s understanding of MIL is geared towards triggering interest in applying it for more effective engagement in civic processes.
