Policy Brief: Weak Governance Framework Limiting Mineral Resource gains for East Africa - Proposals for Policy Action
This policy brief was a product of a research conducted by Acepis in collaboration with AFRODAD. The study sought to explore the status of mineral resource governance in Africa. More precisely, the policy brief provides a reflection on the policy and institutional frameworks, political economy context and the various stakeholders shaping the governance of mineral resources in East Africa. It also provides key recommendations to states on how to improve mineral resource governance and leverage the sector to enhance domestic resource mobilization for operationalization of national and regional development agenda.
