Building Capacities of Youth in Kenya to Tackle Disinformation during and post-COVID-19 Pandemic
This project by Acepis and UNESCO intended to tackle spread of false information related to the Covid-19 pandemic. It meant to enhance capacities of young people to separate facts from falsehoods on mainstream and alternative media channels. The objective was to boost effectiveness of response strategies, besides minimizing confusion, fear and distrust between citizens and authorities. The project is part of the EU-funded project on Addressing the Disinfodemic on COVID-19 in conflict-prone environments. It also built on an initiative by Acepis and UNESCO on stimulating civic engagement through Media and Information Literacy.
